About the Role

The MEP Engineer will support all Mechanical, Electrical, ELV, and Plumbing (MEP) of the project. The role involves regulat site inspections, monitoring contractor performance, reviewing technical submissions, and ensuring compliance with project specifications, international standards, and local regulations.

What you will be doing

Assist the MEP Manager in supervising the contractor’s compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and environmental policies.
Coordinate with other disciplines and assist in resolving MEP-related issues encountered during construction.
Monitor the testing, commissioning, and handover process of MEP systems.
Participate in technical meetings, inspections, and coordination workshops with contractors and client representatives.
Perform regular site inspections and monitor MEP construction works to ensure alignment with contract documents, drawings, and specifications.
Review shop drawings, method statements, material submittals, RFIs, and technical queries for MEP systems.
Support the preparation of progress reports, snagging lists, and final handover documentation.
Verify progress and quality of MEP installations against project schedules and standards.

Required Experience

8–12 years of relevant experience in MEP construction supervision roles.
Minimum 3 years in similar large-scale projects, preferably mixed-use, high-rise, or hospitality developments.
Previous experience working with international consultancy firms in the GCC is highly desirable.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

Certifications & Memberships

Additional training courses, professional and personal development with membership to professional groups, societies or institutes, desired.
Kuwait Society of Engineers (KSE) Membership or Any local Engineer's society membership (for hiring outside Kuwait).

Essential Skills

Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, ELV, and fire protection systems.
Familiarity with international codes and standards and local regulations.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
Good coordination and problem-solving skills within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Clear and effective communicator at all levels.
Highly organised, can work to time and quality targets.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and MEP-related software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks).
Fluent in English; Arabic language skills are an asset.
