About the Role

  • Lead QS teams to provide professional Cost Consultancy and Quantity Surveying services, expertise and advice to all assigned end-user departments of the business and external clients where appropriate in accordance with the disciplines practiced by a Member of the RICS (Royal Institution of Quantity Surveyors), or a directly equivalent professional institution.
    The Quantity Surveying services encompass both pre- and post-contract services, including accountability and responsibility for deliverables and a full range of QS duties across the lifecycle of a project. Ensure the timely, efficient and accurate estimation of budget, control of cost, contract selection, procurement and administration, dispute avoidance and resolution.

What you will be doing

  • Advise on procurement strategies and risk allocation.
  • Conduct value engineering and cost benchmarking across various project types. Manage contract administration, valuations, variations, claims analysis, and final
  • Coordinate QS teams across multiple disciplines and project stages.
  • Ensure all work complies with RICS and international best practices.
  • Implement and use QS departmental Quality Assurance Procedures.
  • Lead and manage a team of quantity surveyors, providing strategic direction, mentorship, and professional development support.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Manage contract administration, valuations, variations, claims analysis, and final accounts.
  • Monitor budget adherence, cost control, and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare and deliver clear and accurate commercial reports and presentations for senior stakeholders.
  • Prepare cost estimates, feasibility studies, cost plans, and tender documentation.
  • Promote ethical standards, health & safety compliance, and company values across all operations.
  • Review team performance, quality of deliverables, and compliance with company and client standards.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on all cost-related matters.
  • Stay informed on various BIM and QS-related software and how they work with Revit and Navisworks and be able to extract quantities.
  • Uphold internal quality assurance processes and deliverables.

Required Experience

  • Over 12 years QS experience.
  • 5 years at senior level leading QS teams.
  • Experience in pre / post contract with client facing roles.
  • Diverse sector knowledge, including commercial, industrial, retail, roads, infrastructure, public works, mixed-use developments, high-rise buildings, and healthcare facilities.
  • Worked in BIM environment for over 2 years. 

Education

  • BSc Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Economics, or a related field.

Certifications & Memberships

  • Additional training courses, professional and personal development with membership to professional groups, societies or institutes, desired.
  • MRICS qualified for over 5 years

Essential Skills

  • Ability to successfully lead, manage and develop QS teams.
  • Can provide guidance and/or mentorship to more junior team members.
  • Ability to oversee multiple concurrent deliverables, develop internal and external relationships, establish cross-team collaboration.
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities to maintain a balance between day-to-day operations and deliverables.
  • Tracking and reporting on progress of deliverables and team outputs.
  • Demonstrated ability to incorporate BIM philosophy into QS team’s work and function.
  • Experience of large project execution including experience of 3D Model / BIM environment.
  • Excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
  • Fluent in English, knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
  • High-level communication, stakeholder engagement and client relationship builder.
  • Demonstrates analytical and critical thinking.
  • Effective judgement for decision-making under pressure.
  • Works with commercial and contractual awareness.
