About the Role

  • The role requires a professional who will lead and grow the sustainability team and capability and will proactively input to and communicate with all multidisciplinary teams, partners, stakeholders, and clients as well as the Pace corporate business departments as required.
  • This role in the MEP department supports standards of behaviours with the appropriate context and culture for the successful implementation of the corporate objectives and will represent Pace at events supporting the sustainable growth of the business across the Middle East region.

What you will be doing

  • Check project deliverables for accuracy and completeness, ensuring the deliverables meet the Client’s requirements, Pace corporate standards and industry best practice standards.
  • Collaborate and communicate clearly and concisely with the colleagues, clients, contractors and stakeholders with accomplished influencing and negotiation skills to resolve critical and sometimes conflicting issues or requirements.
  • Contribute to client meetings and project reviews of internal and external multidisciplinary teams.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative design solutions and emerging technologies with market insights, whilst reconciling Clients’ and Pace objectives.
  • Contribute to the value engineering of technical and value plus solutions.
  • Develop and support standardised procedures to achieve project delivery excellence.
  • Drive quality through the Pace QM QA-QC processes.
  • Ensure effective communications of sustainability with the site supervision teams.
  • Ensuring the coordination of RFI’s, shop drawings, warranties, certifications, safety, quality control mock-ups, materials samples to ensure the site installed systems match the Pace design intent and performance requirements.
  • Proactively identify and support the mitigation of commercial risks.
  • Proactively support innovative business solutions and processes through research, analysis and development in collaboration with the wider business.
  • Proactively support the Director of MEP and the Associate Directors with the effective operations of the corporate functions of the business.
  • Review and support the interface between specifications, procurement, and QS activities.
  • Rigorously challenge project teams across all disciplines to drive performance and efficiency.
  • Support departmental and corporate processes and strategies to improve the linking and effective multidisciplinary coordination of the sustainability and Pace3 digital interfaces for BIM.
  • Take accountability for your duties and tasks under your leadership.
  • Work to develop sustainability principles into all aspects of design process from materials selections and evaluations to latest technologies and assessment tools.
  • Work with IES modelling Team developing Energy Model systems and CFD team advising on criteria issues.

Required Experience

  • 10 experience years working in similar industry. 
  • Knowledge and experience of LCA and Carbon Assessment of all materials. 
  • Experience of working in the Middle East an advantage. 

Education

  • A Degree in Energy Management / Sustainability, with a previous Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is preferred. 

Certifications & Memberships

  • Sustainability certification (LEED or equivalent) is an advantage.
  • Additional training courses, professional and personal development with membership to professional groups, societies or institutes, desired.

Essential Skills

  • Expertise in carbon analysis.  
  • LEED, or other assessment tool membership.  
  • Excellent command of English both written and spoken. Knowledge of other languages would be an advantage. 
  • Accomplished communication, presentation and infuencing skills.  
  • Delivery focussed with attention to detail. 
  • Advanced problem solving skills, identifing and resolving risks through effective management. 
  • Demonstrates a flexble, collaborative and inclusive approach to working relationships. 
  • Demonstrates a highly organised and systematic approach to delivery of tasks with relevant project management processes. 
  • Excellent time management skills, constantly seeks to streamline processes and procedures to increase quality and efficiency. 
  • Demonstrates a good understanding of commercial decision making and risk management.
