About the Role
- The Senior Digital Delivery Manager supports the Director of Digital Delivery in executing the firm’s digital delivery strategy and ensuring consistent implementation across all design, engineering, and supervision departments. The role manages day-to-day coordination of department BIM Managers/SDDCs, oversees digital delivery initiatives, and ensures BIM processes, standards, and training programmes are effectively adopted throughout the business.
- The role is primarily focused on delivery-facing operational leadership, ensuring that Digital Delivery standards, processes, and ways of working are consistently applied across projects and departments. The Senior Digital Delivery Manager acts as a key link between project delivery, departmental implementation, and Digital Delivery governance, ensuring that insight from live projects informs reporting, process improvement, and leadership decision-making.
What you will be doing
- Advocate for the practice of lean processing through the implementation of Design Technology.
- As part of a small senior team, the role demands strong prioritization, sound judgment, and the ability to manage parallel initiatives while empowering others than absorbing delivery work suited for project or departmental teams.
- Champion digital transformation and cultural change throughout the office.
- Collaborate with IT in developing and implementing the application and hardware landscape; explore the options for custom software development and oversight and automation.
- Collaborate with project managers to set BIM schedules and budgets.
- Collaborate with project teams to identify BIM requirements and constraints.
- Collaborate with senior management to determine BIM resources needed for a project.
- Develop automation routines in BIM to support standards and productivity.
- Develop/Evaluate BIM execution plans for compliance with project requirements and standards.
- Effectively manage the design/supervision department BIM Managers/SDDCs to drive engagement, performance management and teamwork.
- Enable and support staff across the office to adopt and adapt to new tools and workflows.
- Ensure alignment of project proposals and contracts with BIM goals and objectives.
- Ensure design/supervision processes are delivered to an assured ISO 19650 standard in line with Pace standards and requirements.
- Ensure that project-level insights, risks, and delivery challenges are clearly captured and fed back into Digital Delivery reporting, dashboards, and leadership updates, supporting informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Help create a brand and ecosystem for Digital Delivery within the office.
- Identify and report back to Director of Digital Delivery on new and existing initiatives.
- Lead and manage training and educational opportunities around company staff, process, software, and tools strategy.
- Maintain high level of competency of software through continued use and training.
- Provide DD oversight on complex projects, ensuring early risks detection, effective role deployment and alignment with DD standards. Use project engagement to identify what is working and where process improvement, guidance or reporting are required.
- Provide input on best practices and strategies for meeting EIRs.
- Provide quality control for completeness and adherence to company standards of all drawings and models produced.
- Reporting on progress and results achieved with digital transformation projects.
- Research emerging software and technologies and define use-cases for implementation within Pace and projects.
- Review and validate BIM deliverables for compliance with EIRs.
- Support the development and implementation of BIM within the design/supervision departments.
- Support the development and implementation of applications, tools, templates and workflows with the Digital Delivery Department.
- Support the governance, prioritisation, and structured implementation of automation initiatives, working collaboratively with Digital Delivery team members and discipline specialists.
- Work with client teams to develop pre and post BIM execution plans and ensure they are maintained for each project
- Transform smart-digital data-driven ideas into reality implemented on projects.
- Support the implementation of the Digital Delivery Process at Pace.
- Represent the company through speaking engagements, hackathons and industry events.
Required Experience
- 12+ years of international experience in AEC/O space.
- 7+ years DD/BIM management experience of teams and departments of 50+.
- Experience developing and implementing, BIM, and digital delivery workflows and protocols in a multi-disciplinary consultancy.
- Documented progressive growth and experience in leading / supporting digital delivery/BIM and innovative framework / workflows in project delivery.
- Proven track record of effectively managing and delivering major multidisciplinary projects in BIM 360 CDE.
- Production experience in design, drafting or engineering.
- Advanced knowledge of all areas of Design Technology (Architecture, Engineering, Landscaping, Interiors, QS, PM etc).
- Developed and managed a comprehensive resource allocation strategy for multiple projects, ensuring optimal utilization of resources and meeting project timelines and budget constraintsExperienced in performance design and analysis tools, including Insight 360, Fenestra Pro, Ladybug, ETABS, SAFE, SAP, Black‑Mint, S‑Frame, Bentley, Tekla, IES‑VE, PyroSim, Elite‑Fire, ETAP, EASE and Ekahau.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology, Engineering, computer science or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of international BIM standards and industry best practice (BS/PAS1192/ ISO19650).
- Autodesk Revit Architecture, Structure, MEP certified professional or equivalent.
- Masters/Post Graduate Degree in Architecture, BIM, Digital Construction or equivalent, preferred.
- Accreditation with BRE or equivalent, preferred.
Certifications & Memberships
- BIM certification from BRE, RICs or equivalent institution is preferred
- ISO 19650 Certification
- Accreditation with CIAT, RIBA, AIA or equivalent (or ability to become accredited
Essential Skills
- Skilled in relevant design, engineering and construction software in areas of implementation, practice, and development (Revit, Rhino, Navisworks, Civils 3D, SketchUp, AutoCAD and related Building Information Modelling software).
- Skilled in relevant presentation and admin software in areas of implementation, practice and development for Adobe CC and MS Office 365.
- Expert in implementing and supporting design collaboration platforms such as design authoring tools in a virtual environment, AEC cloud-based products (BIM 360/ACC).
- Demonstrated ability to develop learning material, deliver effective training and provide ongoing education and technological support to project teams.
- Production experience in design, drafting or engineering.
- Proven record on delivering major projects in BIM successfully during design and supervision stages.
- Proficiency with visual and object-oriented programming such as Python, VB.NET, Java, C++, C# + Linq syntax.
- Skilled with visual programming applications such as Dynamo and Grasshopper.
- Advanced knowledge in IT and digital management systems.
