About the Role

Senior Structural Engineer that will provide creative solutions to structural issues using cost effective structural systems by applying advanced level structural design and construction pratice as well as using international codes and standards praticed in Gulf Region.

What you will be doing

  • Conducted static & dynamic analysis of structures, linear and nonlinear analysis, and preparing of structural calculations submittals.
  • Ensure strength and stability of designed systems under wind and seismic events.
  • Ensure structural design is complying with the relevant legislations, laws, codes, regulations, and engineering principals.
  • Experienced in designing several types of structures, including reinforced concrete, post-tension, pre-tension, steel, composite structures.
  • Extensive experience extended to cover designing of both low-rise and high-rise buildings.
  • Supervise and revise the design work to be done by junior engineers, including the structural drawings.
  • analyzed, designed, managed, optimized and monitored diverse of structural systems with wide range of functionality, including residential, commercial, retail, governmental, educational, hospitals, industrial facilities, and industrial warehouses.
  • considering wind and seismic forces as per the international/Local codes of standards.
  • Assign workable and constructible structural systems and analyze and design them.
  • Authorize and sign-off structural design documents.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines engineers to reach a coordinated engineering design.
  • Collaborate with the executive management in preparing technical proposals.
  • Delegate and monitor design tasks between team members and mentor them.
  • Handle submission of offers, follow up & clarify the doubts as well as obtain approval of drawings and material specifications.
  • Liaise with the authorities to obtain the required approvals regarding structural design.
  • Meeting with the client, supervision/inspection team, and evaluation of the existing structures in heavy industrial applications.

Required Experience

  • Minimum 10 years structural engineering experience in consultancy firms (GCC countries are preferable).
  • Strong background and experience in using the computer software' ETABS / SAFE / SAP -CSI.
  • Candidate should have seismic design and due diligence experience of minimum 10 years in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings (preferredin Gulf region).
  • Intensive experience and up-to date knowledge using the international Design building codes and standards of Materials , mainly the Americancodes and standards as well as equivalent European codes.
  • Experience in analysis and design different building types such as residential, high rise, mixed used stc.
  • Basic knowledge of different materials and structural systems applicable for different project types.
  • Capable of performing lateral wind and seismic analysis and design.
  • Experience in working with Revit and BIM 360 environment.
  • Experience in working in large scale/mega project in design engineering.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Structural Engineering from a reputed university.
  • Master's Degree is preferable.
