About the Role
- QA/QC Inspector is responsible for overseeing and checking quality assurance and quality control measures on construction project sites.
- This role involves conducting inspections, identifying non-conformities, and recommending corrective actions to maintain high-quality construction outcomes.
What you will be doing
- Assist in resolving any issues raised by contractors (e.g. requirements for time extensions, change order requests, variations etc); make recommendations to the Resident Engineer as appropriate.
- Attend technical, operational and quality related meetings as appropriate.
- Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and project managers to resolve quality issues.
- Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and local regulations.
- Ensure that all materials delivered on site are being adequately stored and protected as per manufacturer’s recommendations in order to avoid damage of materials.
- Ensure the maintaining of onsite quality control (e.g. through thorough testing of materials and verifying of materials, adequate storage of materials, contractor’s submittal of written undertakings, warranty and protection of installed systems etc.).
- Ensure compliance with Saudi Building Codes and international quality standards.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, test results, and quality reports.
- Oversee site activities to ensure materials and workmanship meet required standards.
- Provide technical guidance on quality control procedures
- Prepare operational related correspondence for RE / PD review.
- Prepare non-conformance reports (NCRs) and follow up on corrective actions.
- Provide technical support to the related discipline Site Inspection Teams for operations and materials.
- Report findings and recommendations to senior management.
- Review the technical specification and provide awareness to their discipline team members.
- Review related items within the contractor’s construction schedule (CCS) in coordination with the Planning Engineer (e.g. shop drawing submittal log, procurement schedule, and material submittal log etc.) prior to its approval by the Resident Engineer.
Required Experience
- 5 to 7 years of experience in QA / QC work.
- Experience working in site teams on construction projects.
- Ideally worked with Engineering Constancy companies.
- Experience of using related software for QA / QC work.
Education
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Certifications & Memberships
- ISO 9001, ASQ, or QA/QC certifications and similar quality management system certification.
- Saudi Council of Engineers (SSE) Membership or any local engineer's society membership, i.e. CRPEP (for Bahrain).
Essential Skills
- Knowledge of construction materials, testing methods, and quality control procedures.
- AutoCAD, Primavera, GIS and quality management systems.
- Familiarity with local Building Codes, regulations and standards.
- Proficiency in inspection tools, testing methods, and documentation.
- Ability to document findings and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- High attention to detail to follow process and standards.
- Clear effective communication to highlight concerns within site teams.
