About the Role

  • Supervise and manage the processes related to the site work preparation, execution, verification, and validation of Contractor’s submissions, site works and guidance for an effective implementation are all in accordance with drawings, specifications and local regulations. 
  • To lead and direct the site supervision team to ensure smooth implementation of the project construction as per the design and contract documents. 
  • Liaise with client’s representative, contractor, construction manager and the design manager.

What you will be doing

  • Manage, review and coordinate the contractual, technical and commercial requirements and issues.
  • Monitor the Contractor’s arrangements for factory visits and FAT’s, with coordinating accordingly with the Project Site Team.
  • Verify the technical drawing templates and related requirements with the Contractor for use during the project life cycle; e.g. shop drawings and as-built drawings.
  • Address technical issues by advising and coordinating the site technical team for supply chain submittals and site methodology.
  • Chair and coordinate project commercial, technical, contract meetings and finalize related MoM.
  • Apply Quality / Time / Cost assessment to review the impacts of the suggested changes to the project’s requirements and progress.
  • Coordinate the assessment of presented variations with the QS / Admin Coordinator and advise the Employer.
  • Identify and address changes to the Contractor in relation to project’s requirements / activities.
  • Coordinate with Corporate QA Team upon identification of non-compliances that requires investigation.
  • Custodian of the implemented SMPs and Key responsible for the project supervision processes and requirements to deliver in compliance with the contract, project and other applicable requirements.
  • Facilitate the handover from the Corporate CoE Department to the CS Team, including the awareness of the technical requirements and Specifications, and any recorded ongoing and/or pending issues presented within the design history.
  • Issue Variation Orders (VO) to the Contractor to be implemented on site as per Q / T / C requirements, monitoring its execution and report its progress to the employer.
  • Manages the project execution as main responsible for the Construction Supervision Services under the contract.
  • Manage the project execution and coordinate the Project Site Team during their daily activities.
  • Handles all contractual and commercial issues.
  • Identify the internal and external factors that affects the project’s ability to deliver the required services / output.
  • Complete the Supplier Performance Evaluation Assessment to present to the DOCS and the Corporate QA.
  • Allocate areas of risks, opportunities related to the project activities, set the operational controls and the verification mechanisms to ensure effectiveness of controls.
  • Clarify BIM requirements and set up for implementation during the project execution (if BIM is applicable).
  • Is the key liaison with the Employer towards the Contractor.
  • Issue Job Site Instructions / Site Work Instructions to the Contractor addressing Extension of time/cost when necessary.
  • Present and provide awareness to the Site Technical Team regarding the project structure(s) material, products, equipment and related deliverable requirements and Specification as stipulated within the Contract Documents.
  • Monitor the compliance of the requirements of the Contractor’s activities during the Defects Liability Period.

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 20 years’ experience in mixed-use development or construction projects including multi-storey residential buildings in framed structure design and construction having worked with engineering and/or project management consultancy in the Middle East and other locations.
  • Knowledge and experience of inspection procedures to achieve construction quality control.
  • Knowledge and experience of contract administration, time and cost control.
  • Knowledge and experience of construction methods, specifications, codes and experience in leading diverse teams.
  • Experience in working in the confines of local laws and regulations including HSSE regulations and standards. 

Education

  • Minimum qualification of degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • A postgraduate degree of the same and/or registration as licensed/chartered Engineer or Architect from recognized professional body is an advantage.

  • Additional training courses, professional and personal development with membership to professional groups, societies or institutes, desired.
